Spencer Clarke Group's Local Authority client is seeking an experienced interim leader to support a time-critical operational improvement assignment across a large, front-line leisure service.
This is a hands-on transformation brief for someone who can quickly assess service risk, review management practice, and implement a clear plan to improve governance, operational consistency and people management across multiple sites.
Responsibilities include
Conducting a rapid, objective review of operational and management practice
Identifying service risks, root causes and priority improvement areas
Developing and supporting delivery of a practical action plan
Improving consistency, governance and operational effectiveness across sites
Reviewing alignment with HR, health and safety, procurement and financial procedures
Working closely with senior leadership and HR colleagues in a politically sensitive environment
Supporting modernisation of workforce management and day-to-day service operations
About You
Proven senior leadership experience across large, front-line operational services
Strong track record in transformation, stabilisation and service improvement
Comfortable operating in unionised environments and handling sensitive employee relations issues
Able to influence senior stakeholders and work credibly at both strategic and operational level
Ideally brings experience of insourcing, outsourcing or post-transition service reset work
Public sector or local government experience essential
Able to operate independently and objectively throughout the assignment
