The Operations Engineer role comes with a starting salary of up to £66,000 + benefits. Responsibilities and duties of the Operations Engineer Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:
Lead by example in promoting a safe working environment and enforcing all SHEQ policies and procedures. Manage and support safety initiatives, housekeeping programmes, and site compliance activities. Draft, review, and audit operational procedures, Emergency Action Plans, Toolbox Talks, and Risk Assessments. Supervise and manage Day Operatives and Industrial Cleaners, including rotas, staffing levels, and cover arrangements. Ensure all team members are fully trained, competent, and authorised to undertake their duties safely. Oversee maintenance, servicing, and repair of mobile plant equipment, site drainage systems, and administrative facilities. Provide operational guidance and technical support to the Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) department. Act as a nominated Supervisor under Severn Waste Services Safety Rules and support SAP duties when required.
