Our client is a London based investment management house with a top class reputation for working culture and the high level service and product they deliver. They are now seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team in London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Operations and Settlements, with a proven track record of managing teams and overseeing projects. They will support the Head of Operations to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the team, whilst providing support and guidance to team members across varying levels of experience.

Key Responsibilities

Direct management responsibility for a team of 8 team

Conduct regular check-ins with team members to provide support, address any issues and ensure they are on track to meet their objectives.

Oversee the delivery of multiple projects running simultaneously, ensuring that team members meet deadlines and complete work to the highest standard.

Manage the daily workload for the teams, ensuring regular recurring tasks are completed on time and appropriate cover is in place if necessary.

Oversee the weekly planner and group inboxes, ensuring that tasks are completed, and enquiries are addressed within the set SLAs.

Maintain review and approval responsibilities for key operational processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency in the operations and settlements functions.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.

Monitor and report on team and individuals’ performance, providing feedback both to employees and management and identifying development opportunities.

Identify and organise regular training sessions based on the teams’ training needs and requirements.

Experience, Skills and attributes required

Previous experience working within Operations and Settlements teams in the investment management industry.

Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent people management skills with experience in managing a team of 6 or more members.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
