Job Description
Operations Manager\n\nOur client is a well-established and growing electrical contractor delivering commercial projects across London and the South East. Working across a diverse portfolio of commercial schemes, they provide integrated electrical and building systems solutions for repeat and new clients.\n\nDue to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager (Electrical) to take full ownership of project delivery across the business. This is a senior, hands-on role reporting directly to the Managing Director and is critical to the next phase of the company's growth.\n\nOperations Manager\n\nWhat's in it for you?\n\nHours: Monday to Friday, typically 07:00-15:00 or 08:00-16:00, depending on project requirements.\nLocation: At least 3 days per week in the office, with site visits as required, and approximately 2 days working from home.\nAdditional Requirements: Occasional evenings and Saturdays.
Sites are primarily in central London, with others across the city.\nSalary: £65,000-£75,000 per annum (depending on experience).\nLeave: 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.\nCompany Vehicle: Company car or car allowance.\nBonus: Performance- related.\nPension\nPhone and laptop supplied.\nWellbeing & Perks: Free gym membership via Hussle app (multi-gym access) and annual health check/wellbeing assessment.Operations Manager\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTake full responsibility for the delivery of multiple live commercial electrical projects\nOwn programme planning, sequencing, and coordination across all sites\nManage labour resources, site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors\nAct as the first point of escalation for site and delivery issues\nEnsure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to specificationCommercial & Margin Control\n\nMonitor project performance against labour and cost forecasts\nIdentify, manage, and control variations in real time\nSupport valuations and cashflow forecasting\nProtect project margins through proactive operational managementIntegrated Building Systems Coordination\n\nElectrical installation works\nData and structured cabling systems\nFire alarm systems (via specialist subcontractors)\nSecurity and access control systems\nCoordination with mechanical and other building services interfacesSystems & Process (Simpro)\n\nEnforce full and consistent use of Simpro across all projects\nEnsure accurate job setup, labour tracking, and forecasting\nUse system data to inform delivery decisions and performance managementLeadership, Health & Safety\n\nSet clear expectations and lead a structured, calm delivery culture\nOversee RAMS, permits, and statutory compliance\nEnsure works comply with BS 7671, Building Regulations, and client standardsOperations Manager\n\nRole Requirements\n\nProven experience in an Operations Manager or senior electrical delivery role\nDemonstrated track record delivering £200k+ commercial electrical projects\nExperience managing multiple live sites concurrently\nStrong programme planning, labour management, and organisational skills\nSolid commercial awareness including variations, margins, and delivery risk\nFull UK driving licenseDesirable:\n\nCommercial or retail fit-out experience\nExposure to integrated building systems\nExperience using Simpro or similar job management software\nSSSTS or SMSTS certification\nECS / NICEIC backgroundOperations Manager\n\nProgression & Development\n\nThis role is designed to grow alongside the business.
