Job Description
Operations Manager (Factory Manager) — FMCG Food Manufacturing
Location: Wolverhampton | Salary: Up to £75,000
Working Pattern: Tue–Fri 1:30pm–10:30pm; Sat 8:00am–6:00pm
Reporting to: General Manager
We’re partnering with a leading FMCG food manufacturer to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to drive operational excellence across a large, complex manufacturing site.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you’ll lead end-to-end site performance across Operations, Quality, Distribution, Planning, Safety & Wellbeing, Customer Service, and Business Process Management.
You will:
Deliver production, financial, safety, and quality objectives while ensuring full legal compliance Drive operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and best-practice processes Lead a large, multi-functional workforce Translate business strategy into clear operational plans and allocate resources to achieve targets Collaborate with Senior Leadership to deliver business outcomes Foster a high-performance, engaged, and collaborative culture
Key Responsibilities
Own labour costs, yield, waste reduction, line performance, and stock management Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and GMP compliance Support recruitment, development, and retention strategies with HR and L&D Ensure customer orders are delivered in full and to required standards Provide coaching and leadership development across the site
Success Measures
Achievement of financial and operational KPIs Improved efficiency and delivery of continuous improvement initiatives Strong employee engagement and safety culture Reliable customer service and operational performance
Candidate Profile
5+ years’ senior operational leadership experience within FMCG food manufacturing Proven record of driving performance improvements in complex environments Strong data-driven decision-making and stakeholder management skills Inspiring, visible leader with a focus on developing high-performing teams Commercially aware, collaborative, and results-driven
