Operations Manager - Food Manufacturing Location: Dungannon Salary: £50-60K (DOE) MCS Group is delighted to be working with a well-established food manufacturer based in Dungannon, as they seek to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day production and operational performance at their facility. This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for driving production efficiency, managing cross-functional teams, embedding lean principles, and ensuring operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee all production lines, ensuring safety, quality, service, and cost KPIs are consistently achieved Manage a shift-based production operation, including planning, performance monitoring, labour optimisation, and output delivery Collaborate with the Technical and Quality teams to ensure compliance with food safety, BRC, and regulatory standards Oversee supply chain, inventory, warehousing, and both inbound and outbound logistics operations Ensure material availability, stock accuracy, and supplier performance via effective ERP/MRP usage Drive a lean culture through the implementation of 5S, Kaizen, and other CI methodologies Lead continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve customer satisfaction Criteria for Success: Recent experience in a senior operations or production management role within the food manufacturing or FMCG sectors Proven track record in managing and developing high-performing teams Strong working knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing best practices Practical experience with lean manufacturing tools and improvement frameworks Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities Desirable Qualifications: Degree in Engineering, Food Science, Operations Management, or a related field Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) Food safety or Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, dynamic business and play a pivotal role in shaping its future operations.
