Mech Tech Professionals have a full-time opportunity available for an experienced Operations Manager to work at an Energy from Waste Facility based in Gloucestershire.
Our client, one of the UK's most prestigious Waste and resource management companies, requires an experienced professional to start with them immediately or upon availability.

This is a permanent position, working 5 days per week (Monday to Friday).
Position Overview:
As an Operations Manager, you play a pivotal role in overseeing the smooth, safe, and sustainable operation of projects at an Energy from Waste facility.
You will take charge of maintaining high standards in health, safety, and environmental compliance, while ensuring that customer needs are met and operational goals are achieved within budget, while also contributing to the long-term strategic direction of the site.
Main responsibilities will include:
* To manage all the waste treatment and transfer operations at the Waste Treatment Division (WTD) facility.
* Ensure that all work is carried out within the scope of the clients Environmental Permit, company health & safety and environmental policies - adhere to all HSEQ procedures.
* To manage the reception, inspection, processing and dispatch of wastes and treated residues.
* Monitor and control operating costs to meet business targets.
* Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs and to arrange for timely maintenance.
* Develop operating procedures, work instructions and staff training and implement so that the facility operates effectively, safely and within legal requirement.
* Manage the site’s Safe System of Work and adhering to the clients Safety Rules.
* Supervise and develop the Operations Team to ensure strong performance and safety culture.
* Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Team and other departments to deliver high plant availability and reliability
* Develop operating procedures, work instructions and staff training
* Liaise and agree with technical staff with the appropriate sampling, assessment of analytical results for the identification and implementation, including monitoring, of waste processing techniques.
* Provide permits to work for internal engineers and contractors.
* Operate mobile plant equipment. Including forklifts, loading shovels and excavators (if necessary).
* Train and mentor new starters as and when required.
Candidate requirements:
* Ideally, candidates will hold a degree, HNC or HND in chemistry or related subject
* NEBOSH or IOSH Safety accreditation ()
* Experience in the process (chemical) or waste treatment /Energy from Waste industry?
* Experience in the use and maintenance of mobile plant and fixed machinery.
* A good understanding/ability to implement company SHEQ Policies
