Operations / Yard Manager - East London
£50,000 - £60,000, plus bonus
Hours - Full time 07.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations / Yard Manager who is looking for a new challenge to join a vibrant team within a leading non ferrous scrap metal merchant based in East London
About the role
As Operations / Yard Manager you will ensure the yard operates at maximum efficiency and productivity while within health & safety guidelines.
The Operations / Yard Manager will be responsible for management of vehicles / grabs / forklifts and other equipment and ensure it is maintained and serviced appropriately to ensure maximum productivity.
You will lead and motivate the staff within the yard and manage relationships with commercial customers.
About You
You will bring previous experience working within in either Ferrous or Non-Ferrous Metal Recycling is highly desirable.
* Organised – an ability to maintain control and focus despite multiple factors and distractions.
* Flexible - an ability to think on your feet and facilitate solutions to problems when they arise.
* Communication – with clear concise instructions required to yard operatives and liaising with management regarding buying/selling activities.
* Health & Safety – ensure safety of staff and contactors alike and compliance with company H&S policy
To apply you must have previous experience of working within the waste/recycling industry or similar industry or busy warehouse essential.
