Packaging Manager FMCG Manufacturing
Location: Wellington
Salary: £50,000 £60,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Full-time)
The Role
We are recruiting a Packaging Manager on behalf of a leading FMCG manufacturing business operating a high-volume bottling facility. This role is responsible for managing packaging operations, driving operational excellence, and ensuring safety, quality, and performance targets are consistently achieved.
The successful candidate will be an experienced people manager with a strong background in continuous improvement and automated packaging environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all packaging operations within a fast-paced FMCG bottling plant
Ensure production plans are delivered safely, on time, and to quality standards
Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives using Lean / Six Sigma methodologies
Manage team performance, training, engagement, and succession planning
Monitor and improve KPIs including efficiency, waste, downtime, and cost
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and food manufacturing standards
Use SAP or similar ERP systems for planning, reporting, and stock control
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
Support audits and continuous compliance improvement activities
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in a Packaging Manager or senior packaging leadership role
Background within FMCG manufacturing , ideally high-volume or automated packaging
Strong working knowledge of CI / Lean / Six Sigma
Experience using SAP or comparable ERP systems
Confident people leader with strong communication and decision-making skills
Data-driven mindset with strong problem-solving capability
Qualifications
Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline
Or professional management qualifications such as ILM , CIM , or equivalent
Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above) desirable

Salary: £50,000 £60,000
Full-time role: 37.5 hours per week
