Overview The post-holder will undertake regular neuroinflammation and demyelination clinics at Evelina London, supporting the delivery of care across the southern region as one of 6 UK Paediatric onset Multiples Sclerosis Highly specialised services. Alongside this the post-holder will support the delivery of advanced therapies across neurological subspecialties. The General Neurology remit will support the strategic direction of the Children's Neuroscience Department as a whole and ensure the incumbent remains abreast of developments in Paediatric Neurology in general. The job plan will be reviewed after appointment and annually in line with trust policy, where possible additional interests of the post holder will be incorporated in the job plan. Responsibilities
Provide regular neuroinflammation and demyelination clinics at Evelina London and contribute to care delivery across the southern region. Support the delivery of advanced therapies across neurological subspecialties. Support the General Neurology remit and contribute to the strategic direction of the Children\'s Neuroscience Department, staying informed on developments in Paediatric Neurology. Participate in the Paediatric Neurology on-call rota for ELCH (approximately 1 in 9 basis for a week in service); during on-call weeks, elective activity will be cancelled, and non-resident supervision and attendance will be required. Take a major role in the delivery of Neuroinflammation services at Evelina London and in the delivery of advanced therapies. Work within the Children\'s Neurosciences department, a tertiary service providing an integrated Neurology, Rehabilitation and Neurodisability service for children and their families from South East Thames and beyond. Collaborate with Neurosurgical colleagues at Kings College Hospital to ensure a comprehensive Paediatric Neurology service within Kings Health Partners. Contribute to the service volume and reach, with contextual figures indicating the patient load: approximately 2500 inpatients and more than 7000 outpatients seen annually within the Children\'s Neurosciences service. Services are provided from a refurbished outpatient department in the South Wing of St Thomas\' Hospital and at ELCH, with inpatient, Neurophysiology and Neuroradiology facilities mainly at Evelina Children\'s Hospital on the St Thomas\' site.
About the Department The Evelina London Children\'s Hospital seeks to appoint a 4 PA consultant to support the neurology department in its provision of acute inpatient and long-term outpatient care to children with neurological disorders within the South East Thames region. The post holder will take a major role in the delivery of Neuroinflammation services and advanced therapies. The Children\'s Neurosciences department provides a tertiary service including an integrated and comprehensive Neurology, Rehabilitation and Neurodisability service for children and their families from South East Thames and beyond. We work closely with our Neurosurgical colleagues at Kings College Hospital to ensure a comprehensive Paediatric Neurosciences service is managed within Kings Health Partners. #J-18808-Ljbffr
