Paint Technician

We are seeking a Paint Technician to work on the production of lifeboats.

This role covers prepping, painting, filling and fairing GRP/composite components to a high, consistent standard in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sanding, abrading and cleaning GRP/composite surfaces
Accurate masking
Checking for and identifying minor imperfections before paint application
Applying primers, topcoats and marine grade coatings (brush, roller or spray)
Mixing/applying fillers to achieve the correct profile
Sanding and fairing surfaces smooth before final finishing
Ensuring high quality, consistent finishes

General Duties

Supporting production output and build schedules
Maintaining tools, equipment and workspace
Following all health & safety procedures including correct PPE and chemical handling

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience in marine, automotive, aerospace or similar finishing industries
Competent in prepping, painting, filling and fairing
GRP/composite experience is advantageous
Strong eye for detail and quality workmanship

Rates & contract info

PAYE -£16.00 - £17.50 per hour
Holiday Pay - £1.93 - £2.11 per hour (can be accrued or advanced)
Umbrella Company - £21.43 - £23.44 per hour
6 month contract (long term sick cover)
42 hour week as standard
