Quantity Surveyor – Painting\n\nLocation: Derby (with hybrid/flexible working)\nSalary: £40,000 – £50,000 + full package\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nA well‑established specialist subcontractor within the property and construction sector is seeking an experienced Painting Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. With a strong pipeline of projects across commercial, industrial, retail and maintenance sectors, this is a chance to join a reputable business known for quality, stability and long‑term progression.\n\nThe organisation forms part of a larger construction group, offering excellent support, resources and development opportunities, all while retaining a friendly, collaborative team environment.\n\nRole Overview\n\nAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage your own portfolio of projects from start to finish, working both in the office and out on site.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nConducting site measures for valuation and cost-control purposes\nProducing accurate monthly valuations and accounts\nMonitoring project costs, values and progress\nLiaising closely with clients, Contracts Managers and site teams\nPreparing Method Statements and Risk Assessments\nAssisting with programme monitoring and project reporting\nEnsuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely and to required standardsYour work will be crucial to the successful commercial delivery of each project.\n\nAbout You\n\nYou will thrive in this role if you are:\n\nAnalytical, organised and meticulous with detail\nA confident communicator with clients and colleagues\nExperienced in running your own projects\nFrom a painting, plastering or drylining subcontracting background (all considered)\nProactive and able to manage your workload independentlyExperience within finishing trades is particularly valued.\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n£40,000 – £50,000 salary depending on experience\nHybrid/flexible working arrangements\nCompany car & private mileage scheme\n25 days’ holiday + bank holidays + Christmas Eve\nGroup pension scheme\nPrivate health insurance (after qualifying period)\nEye care voucher scheme\nOngoing training and development\nAdditional benefits associated with a major UK construction group
