Location: Student Accommodation Site, Aldershot, Hampshire

Contract Type: Temporary / Ad‑hoc Cover

Hours: 9am to 4pm 3 days per week for 2 weeks, reducing to 1 day per week thereafter

Payrate: £14 per hour

DBS Required.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hands‑on Temporary Maintenance Operative to provide ad‑hoc cover across a busy student accommodation site. This role focuses on completing essential day‑to‑day repair tasks, with a particular emphasis on maintaining and repairing door locks, handles, and basic fixtures to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including:
Repairing and replacing door locks, handles, latches, and hinges
Troubleshooting and fixing minor issues in rooms and communal areas
Completing basic repairs to fixtures, fittings, and general building fabric
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard.
Conduct checks to identify repair needs and report any larger issues to the Maintenance Supervisor or Site Manager.
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times.
Maintain accurate records of completed tasks.
Provide professional and friendly customer service to student residents.

Requirements

Previous experience in maintenance, repairs, or a similar hands‑on role (preferred but not essential).
Practical skills and confidence working with tools and basic hardware repairs.
Ability to diagnose straightforward maintenance issues efficiently.
Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.
Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
A proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
