Role Summary

The firm is seeking a senior industry leader to establish and scale a Digital Assets Regulatory Practice. This Partner will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction, developing market-leading advisory offerings, building a high-performing team, and acting as a trusted adviser to clients navigating the rapidly evolving digital-asset regulatory landscape.

The ideal candidate is a recognised expert in cryptoassets, tokenisation, blockchain-based financial services, and digital-ledger compliance, with a strong track record of building books of business and delivering complex regulatory engagements.


Key Responsibilities

Practice Leadership & Growth

  • Build and lead a high-impact digital assets regulatory practice from the ground up.
  • Define strategy, service lines, market positioning, and commercial priorities.
  • Drive revenue growth through new business development, strategic partnerships, and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Represent the practice as a thought leader at industry events, in media, and in regulatory roundtables.


Regulatory Advisory & Delivery

  • Provide expert guidance on UK and EU digital-asset rules, including:
  • FCA cryptoasset regime (including consumer-duty and financial-promotions requirements).
  • MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation).
  • AML/CFT obligations (FATF Travel Rule, MLRs).
  • Custody, safeguarding, market-abuse, and operational-resilience frameworks.
  • Tokenisation, stablecoins, CBDCs, DLT market infrastructure and related developments.
  • Oversee end-to-end advisory engagements, from scoping to delivery, ensuring high technical quality and regulatory accuracy.
  • Advise clients on licensing, compliance frameworks, risk assessments, controls testing, governance, and interaction with regulators.
  • Translate emerging regulatory changes into commercial implications for clients.


Team Development & Operations

  • Hire, mentor, and develop a team of regulatory specialists and consultants.
  • Establish delivery methodologies, quality standards, and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with existing practice leaders across risk, compliance, financial crime, and technology.


Required Experience

Technical & Regulatory Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of digital-asset regulation
  • Proven experience advising on cryptoasset licensing, risk frameworks, internal controls, or compliance transformation.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technology, tokenisation models, and decentralised financial ecosystems.


Leadership & Commercial Track Record

  • Experience working at Partner level with a focus on digital assets regulation.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track-record for significant revenue origination.
  • Significant experience building and leading consulting or advisory teams.


Client-Facing & Interpersonal Skills

  • Gravitas and credibility with senior stakeholders and regulators.
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in translating complex regulatory change into actionable business strategy.
  • Ability to operate within an entrepreneurial environment with ambiguity and rapid evolution.
