Sue Ross Recruitment are working on behalf of our client to recruit a highly organised and proactive Credit Control Administrator. Role Overview
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a wide range of credit control and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth running of customer accounts and supporting the wider operations team.
Duties include:
* Managing the monthly credit control process
* Monitoring overdue balances and contacting customers to arrange payment plans
* Applying late payment surcharges where appropriate
* Suspending and reinstating customer accounts when required
* Taking card payments by phone and allocating payments to accounts
* Handling customer queries via phone and email
* Preparing correspondence for the external credit collection agent
* Managing all communication until debt recovery is complete
* Setting up and updating customer direct debits
* Preparing the monthly DD proposal for the 18th of each month
* Following up unpaid direct debits and applying returned DD charges
* Onboarding new accounts and ensuring all documentation is complete
* Completing credit checks and obtaining personal guarantees for Limited companies
* Conducting periodic audits to ensure accurate credit limits and contact details
* Maintaining up-to-date records and personal guarantee information
* Updating suppliers via Sage X3 with changes in customer status (e.g., holds or suspensions)
* Informing suppliers of customer interest in trading
* Carrying out any additional duties requested by the Operations Manager or Directors
Person Specification
* Experience using Sage or a similar system (full system training provided)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
* Highly organised with strong time‑management skills
* A proactive, positive and motivated approach
Salary, Hours & Benefits
* £18,400 per annum
* 23.25 hours per week
* Working hours: - Monday–Thursday: 12:00pm – 4:45pm - Friday: 8:45am – 1:00pm
* Free onsite parking
* 25 days annual leave (including 2 reserved for Christmas shutdown)
* An additional day off on your birthday
