Part-Time Credit Controller

Location: Manchester
We are working with a small, friendly finance team seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join on a part-time basis (approx. 20 hours/week) . This is a flexible role where you can set your preferred days and hours, with the requirement to cover all or part of Monday and Tuesday to support payroll processing.
The Role: As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing the sales ledger and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments , including:
Posting and reconciling daily cash, BACS, and cheque receipts.
Confirming and preparing sales invoices, including manual entries where required.
Chasing overdue invoices and accelerating formal collections in line with company policy.
Managing customer accounts, applying for credit insurance, and performing regular credit reviews.
Responding to queries, sending invoices/credits, and maintaining accurate customer records.
Supporting payroll via portal data input, ensuring timely sign-off.
Providing cover for other finance team members and assisting with ad-hoc tasks as required.
About You:
Proven credit control experience, ideally in a small team environment.
Confident communicator at all levels, both face-to-face and over the phone.
Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to prioritise autonomously.
Tenacious with the ability to hold difficult conversations professionally.
Salary & Benefits:
£27,000-£30,000 pro-rata (based on 37.5hrs/week).
