Pastoral Tutor / SEMH Mentor Alternative Provision - KS3

We are seeking a confident and resilient Pastoral Tutor / SEMH Mentor to support Key Stage 3 students within an Alternative Provision setting. This role is ideal for candidates with a sports or drama background who can use practical, engaging activities to support students with SEMH needs, behaviour regulation, and emotional development.
£200 - £245 per day
Key Responsibilities Deliver 1:1 mentoring and small-group interventions Support behaviour regulation, emotional awareness and PSHE themes Deliver structured sessions through sport/physical activity or drama/creative approaches Support students during lessons, transitions and unstructured times Implement behaviour support plans using calm, restorative approaches Monitor progress and maintain accurate records Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams Essential Experience Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills Experience delivering 1:1 and small-group support Emotional resilience and a relational, trauma-informed approach Qualifications (Preferred) Degree in Sport, Drama, Youth Work, Psychology, Education, SEN or Social Care Sports, drama, coaching or youth work qualifications are advantageous Safeguarding Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain) Strong safeguarding awareness This role suits individuals who can engage young people through movement or creativity, remain calm under pressure, and are committed to making a meaningful difference
