The Pastry Junior Sous Chef is jointly responsible for the operation of the Pastry kitchen, ensuring that all outlets and events run successfully in accordance with the hotels standards, while also ensuring they remain individually profitable. Your main responsibilities will include ensuring the Pastry Kitchen operates productively. In addition to your role as an operational Pastry Junior Sous Chef and maintaining brand standards, you will assist with the day-to-day administration of the Pastry department. You will actively engage with the team in their roles and help maintain motivation within the department. You will work on a shift rota basis. Due to the nature of the business, particularly during busy periods, you will be expected to work overtime when required. Qualifications About you: We are looking for a strong Pastry Junior Sous Chef who is seeking a new and unique challenge. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hotel or large restaurant with high standards, preferably with experience in luxury international brands. A qualification in Kitchen Production (e.g., NVQ in Food Preparation or equivalent) is required, as is some international experience. A comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards is essential. Basic computer skills in MS Office and experience with Recipe Maintenance Systems are preferred. You should be able to motivate others to perform to the best of their ability and understand the importance of developing individuals to succeed.
