Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, biweekly, or monthly payroll for employees
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and tax withholdings
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, pension contributions, and labor regulations
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and government agencies
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll queries
  • Coordinate with HR regarding new hires, terminations, and salary changes
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with audits

Skills and competencies needed

  • Strong numerical and data-entry accuracy skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
  • Understanding of payroll legislation and tax requirements
