Job Purpose

As an Internal Payroll Coordinator, you will work closely with the Payroll Manager and team members to process internal payroll from start to finish. Your responsibilities include liaising with HR, Rewards & Benefits, and Finance teams, producing monthly reports, reconciling data, and addressing staff queries.

Job Role

• Responsible for the daily administration of staff payroll.
• Efficient use of payroll software, including data import/export and report generation.
• Processing manual payroll calculations, including salary sacrifice schemes.
• Applying knowledge of PAYE/NIC, statutory payments, redundancy, family leave, SSP, etc.
• Managing pension schemes, AE process, and pension uploads.
• Handling BACS payments.
• Staying updated on payroll legislation and compliance.
• Performing payroll reconciliations and analysis.
• Liaising with HMRC and handling technical enquiries.
• Using initiative to resolve issues and support team members.
• Building relationships with internal contacts at all levels.

Person Specification

• Experience in internal payroll or bureau services.
• Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and proficiency with payroll software.
• Intermediate IT skills, especially Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Team-oriented attitude and responsiveness to team requests.
• Willingness to enhance expertise and knowledge.
