FryerMiles is delighted to be partnering with an independent healthcare sector organisation in Twyford Berkshire, who are recruiting a Payroll Manager to support on a permanent basis during an exciting period.
Reporting to the CFO the Payroll Manager will be the strategic lead for a complex, large scale payroll operation. The role will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for a large workforce, overseeing payroll operations, compliance and process improvements. Working closely with senior leadership, the Payroll Manager will drive efficiency, maintain strong governance and controls, and lead a small payroll team to ensure high standards of service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end payroll function for 3,500-4,000 employees across multiple entities.
Manage and develop a payroll team of 3, including a Payroll Supervisor.
Ensure accurate and timely processing across hourly and monthly payroll cycles.
Partner with the CFO to maintain compliance and drive payroll process improvements.
Oversee payroll controls, reporting, and adherence to UK payroll legislation.
Skills Required
Strong payroll leadership experience within high-volume environments.
Solid knowledge of complex pay structures (hourly and salaried).
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Experience
Experience managing large payrolls (3,000+ employees).
CIPP qualification.
Experience within multi-entity organisations.
Immediate availability or a short notice period advantageous
