Join a fast-paced, client-focused payroll bureau providing expert payroll services to a wide portfolio of clients across multiple industries.

As they continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our dedicated team and manage end-to-end payrolls on behalf of clients with accuracy, efficiency, and outstanding service.

The Role

As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll be responsible for delivering timely and accurate payroll services to a portfolio of clients. You’ll be the key point of contact for all payroll-related queries, ensuring compliance with legislation and maintaining exceptional client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple client payrolls from start to finish, including weekly, fortnightly, and monthly runs.
• Process new starters, leavers, pensions, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), and year-end tasks.
• Handle auto-enrolment duties and pension submissions.
• Liaise with HMRC on PAYE matters and ensure RTI submissions are accurate and timely.
• Deal with client queries in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain up-to-date payroll records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and best practices.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a payroll bureau environment.

Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.

Confident managing a portfolio of client payrolls independently.

Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Strong communication and client relationship skills.

Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage, BrightPay, Iris, or similar).

Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
