The role - PE & SEN Teaching Assistant

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Enfield is looking to appoint a dedicated PE & SEN Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. In this role, you will provide support to students with Special Educational Needs both during PE lessons and within the wider school setting.

Your responsibilities will include supporting students during practical PE sessions, helping them to engage in physical activities safely and confidently, and providing additional classroom support where required. You may work one-to-one with students or support small groups, helping them stay focused, develop confidence, and access the curriculum effectively.

You will work closely with PE teachers and the SEN department to ensure students receive the support they need to participate fully in lessons and school life. The successful candidate will be proactive, patient, and passionate about using sport and physical activity as a tool to support student development. Previous experience working with young people or within a school setting would be beneficial but is not essential.
