An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Physical Education to join our team at our excellently resourced Whalsay School, Urafirth Primary School and Lunnasting Primary School (Vidlin).

Our beautiful location offers great opportunities for learning and we benefit from an excellently resourced school, at the heart of a caring, supportive community.

Whalsay School is a non-denominational school located in Symbister, Whalsay. It provides nursery, primary and secondary education up to S4 for children from the whole island of Whalsay. The structure of the school is a nursery setting, 4 composite primary classes and S1-4 secondary classes. There is currently a total of 164 pupils on the roll, inclusive of all phases. The school is managed by a Head Teacher and a Depute Head Teacher (job-share). The current staffing complement is 17 part-time/full time teachers assisted by support staff as required to meet school demands. The Head Teacher is Mr. Niall Healy. Further information can be found on the schools website at Primary School is a non-denominational school located in Vidlin. It provides nursery to P7 education for children from Vidlin and surrounding areas. The structure of the school is 1 nursery class and 2 composite primary classes. There are currently 36 pupils in the school and 12 pupils in the nursery. The school is managed by a teaching Head Teacher. The current Head Teacher is Ms Laura Tulloch. Urafirth Primary School is a non-denominational school located in Heylor. It provides nursery to P7 education for children from Eshaness, Hillswick, Urafirth, Heylor and Hamar. The structure of the school is 1 nursery class and 2 multi-composite primary classes. There are currently a total of 19 primary and 12 ELC pupils on the roll. The school is managed by Jasmin Tulloch, who is a teaching Acting Head Teacher. The current staffing complement is 3 teachers (FTE) assisted by support staff as required to meet school demands.
