Role Overview
Manage a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients. This role involves ensuring accurate and efficient compliance work by preparing and reviewing personal tax computations and returns, as well as contributing to servicing complex clients and assisting directors in delivering tax planning advice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Personal Tax within a practice environment.
Key tasks and day to day responsibilities
Managing a portfolio of clients as the primary point of contact, including director/shareholders, sole traders, partnerships, property owners with rental income, doctors, dentists, clients with different investments etc
Review financial documents to ensure accuracy for self‑assessment returns
Preparing and reviewing and submitting personal tax returns
Compliance work, occasional remuneration/dividend planning, exit strategy & business structuring. Including identifying tax planning opportunities
Providing guidance, training, and support to junior staff
Build strong rapport with clients, proactively handling queries and resolving issues
Various ad‑hoc duties relating to client queries
Occasional prospective client meetings/calls
Key Skills and Essential Criteria
Ability to self-manage workload and ensure working within required time
Experience working in a similar role
CTA is desirable, but not required
Knowledge of tax within GP practices including preparation of partnership & partners’ tax returns, PCSE practice administration including filing of estimates, type 1 & type 2 certificates would be desirable.
Some flexibility on working of hours, office hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm each day. We are also able to accommodate starting earlier or later if helpful for candidates travel times and requirements.
