A welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking an experienced and dedicated Phonics Lead to join their team. If you are committed to driving literacy progress and supporting both pupils and staff, this Phonics Lead role offers an exciting opportunity to lead on phonics across the school.
The Role | Phonics Lead
- Oversee and deliver high-quality phonics teaching across Key Stage 1.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to staff to ensure consistent phonics practice.
- Monitor pupil progress, analyse data, and implement targeted interventions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop a whole-school approach to early reading.
- Lead and coordinate phonics assessments and reporting.
- Supportive and inclusive school community with strong leadership.
- Excellent resources and well-equipped classrooms.
- Opportunities for professional development and leadership experience.
- Clear pathways for career progression within the school.
- Qualified Teacher with UK QTS.
- Experience teaching phonics and early literacy across Key Stage 1.
- Knowledge of phonics schemes and assessment procedures.
- Strong leadership, collaborative, and student-focused approach.
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary: MPS/UPS (Inner London)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026
