Full-time Purpose Responsibility for the creation and communication of factory production plans, with the goal of achieving 100% service level at least cost. The Planner will have responsibility for weekly capacity planning and for ensuring service levels are protected while ensuring stock levels are kept to a minimum. Key Responsibilities: Understanding Cost Implications: Assess and manage the cost impact of customer shortages, flesh downgrades, aged stock, and factory inefficiencies. Formulate cost-effective plans to achieve service levels while considering process and line efficiencies and material availability. Day-to-Day Duties: Produce accurate production schedules to minimize waste and optimize efficiency. Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure timely and complete material availability. Support core functional areas including:

Meat Supply:

Communicate orders/amendments to ensure on-time, in-full delivery. Frozen Stock:

Monitor holdings to minimize waste and maximize Customer Service Level (CSL). Meat Substitutions:

React commercially to supply changes.

Contribute to new product reviews and specifications to optimize production patterns. Communication: Liaise with Production, Commercial, Stores, Distribution, and Technical teams for seamless operations. Coordinate with Engineering to maintain Preventative Maintenance Schedules for optimal line availability. Work with sister sites to maximize resource utilization and protect CSL. Stock Control: Monitor stock daily and take corrective action to minimize waste. Investigate deviations from forecasts and implement solutions to reduce commercial impact. Environmental Responsibility: Actively seek to reduce environmental impact through waste reduction and recycling initiatives. Additional Duties: Maintain and update planning tools and systems accurately. Understand meat supply patterns and constraints. Undertake any reasonable duties as part of an interdependent team. Skills & Knowledge Essential: Previous experience in production, distribution, or planning. Ability to work on own initiative and manage priorities effectively. Strong communication and organizational skills. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail. Flexibility in working hours to meet business needs. IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Desirable: Knowledge of ERP systems and planning tools. Understanding of meat supply chain patterns and constraints. Commercial awareness regarding cost implications of shortages, downgrades, and inefficiencies.
