Job Title: Town Planner | Location: EdinburghPenguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their growing team in Edinburgh.This is an exciting opportunity for a Planner to work across a diverse range of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will gain exposure to all stages of the planning process while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.THE ROLEAs a Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning projects from initial appraisal through to submission and determination.You will manage your own smaller projects while supporting senior team members on more complex schemes, gaining valuable client-facing experience and developing your technical expertise.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManaging smaller planning applications from start to finishSupporting senior planners on larger and more complex developmentsPreparing high-quality planning reports and supporting documentsUndertaking site appraisals and planning policy researchLiaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholdersAttending client meetings and project discussionsSupporting project coordination and deliveryAssisting with business development and networking activitiesWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORRTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related disciplineMRTPI qualified or working towards ChartershipPrevious experience within a planning consultancy or local authorityStrong understanding of the UK planning systemExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organisational and time management abilitiesA proactive and commercially aware mindsetWHAT’S ON OFFERCompetitive salary and benefits packageOpportunity to work on a wide variety of projectsSupportive and collaborative team environmentClear progression opportunitiesOngoing professional development and support towards ChartershipInterested?
