Planning Supervisor

New Yesterday

Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

Want to be a part of it?

What will you be doing?

As our Planning Supervisor you'll provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, and direction to Planning Coordinators, fostering high performance, consistency, and strong ownership of their geographic areas. You will ensure alignment in planning standards, documentation, and processes while managing workload allocation to maintain balanced coverage, resilience, and efficiency across all workstreams. With end‑to‑end oversight of planning performance, you will also act as the escalation point for complex or high‑risk issues, ensuring jobs progress smoothly from creation to completion and that plans support operational, resource, and commercial objectives.

A key part of the role involves driving planning and scheduling excellence. You'll monitor daily and weekly schedules to optimise planned value, travel time, crew productivity, and key delivery milestones. You'll challenge and approve final schedules, collaborating closely with Field Managers and operational leaders to refine crew allocation and sequencing. Commercial performance is central, with responsibility for tracking job value, aborted visits, overruns, reinstatement costs, and permit fines, ensuring planning decisions protect operational efficiency and commercial outcomes.

You'll also oversee Streetworks compliance, ensure notices are raised on time, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Alongside this, you’ll maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships, ensuring timely communication and effective escalation management across operations, customer service, and external partners.

This role will be hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week.
