This role is easily accessible from Leeds, Scunthorpe, Santon, Pontefract, Selby, Goole, Rothwell, Oulton, Swillington, Garforth, Wetherby, Whinmoor, Oakwood, Bradford, Dewsbury, Wakefield, Headingley, Otley, Castleford, Halifax and the surrounding areas.\n\nHere at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.\n\nRole Responsibility\n\nReporting to the Production Manager the role of Plant Supervisor - Readymix is an operational role and the suitable candidate will also support the RMX Section Manager in managing and being accountable for the RMX operations on our plant. Safety and operational standards are the fundamentals of the role of Plant Supervisor – Readymix, delivery to customer needs and performance improvement being key.\n\nKey Tasks and Responsibilities include:\n\nSupporting the Production Manager in the management of plant compliance with business policies and procedures\nBatching concrete to meet customer needs whilst meeting internal quality requirements\nEnsuring Readymix deliveries are met, engaging with Readymix Distribution Teams\nWorking closely with Readymix Technical Teams to ensure quality control of all products\nHaulier management - coordinating collection loads daily\nSupervising Contractors and Multi Skilled Operatives\nOverseeing all aspects of daily production including operational costs and control stocks\nEnsuring legislative compliance at all times\nTaking responsibility for their own safety and that of colleagues, contractors and business partners\nMaintaining site housekeeping to a high standard\n\nThe Ideal Candidate\n\nThe ideal candidate for the role of Plant Supervisor - Readymix will have experience in plant operations preferably within a Ready Mix / Aggregates environment however this is not essential as we also welcome applications from candidates with hands on manufacturing experience too, preferably within the heavy industrial sector.\n\nSuitable candidates Plant Supervisor - Readymixwill also:\n\nActively identify and implement site and process improvements\nBe happy to multitask and manage change as well as confident to motivate others\nPossess excellent communication skills\nDemonstrate superb attention to detail\nEngage with stakeholders at all levels (both internally and externally)\nEvidence good time management skills\nBe flexible and adaptable to ensure delivery of customer requirements and workload priorities (paid overtime)\nHave full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems as well as working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental policies\nHave working knowledge of production processes\nIOSH Managing Safely (advantageous - we will train)\nNVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations (advantageous - we will train)\n\nWhy Tarmac\n\nIn addition to the role of Plant Supervisor - Readymix we also offer an extensive range of career development opportunities and industry-leading rewards, incentives and benefits including:\n\nBonus scheme\nEnhanced holiday entitlement\nContributory pension scheme\nAccess to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc.\nAccess to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential advice\nAccess to join our Employee Communities (employee networks) we currently have nine communities inc.(REACH) , Ethnic, Cultural Heritage, +, Parents & carers, Ability, Wellbeing, voice and menopause\nTraining and development opportunities\n\nInterested?
