Platform Engineer - Edinburgh - outside IR35 - 6 month contract

Are you an Platform Engineer with experience of working on Site Resilience projects?

I have an immediate contract opportunity in Edinburgh for a Platform Engineer to support and enhance existing storage and virtual platforms for a public sector client. Some of the work will involve contributing to NVMe adoption, enhancing organisational resilience, expanding backup services, and improving platform engineering for vMotion setup.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with the Product Managers and Technology teams to define and prioritise platform roadmaps
Support virtual and storage platform development
Propose and implement platform improvements
Manage platform health, capacity, and integrity
Monitor storage and archiving procedures
Support disaster recovery events
Skills Required:
Proven experience with VMWare, Cisco UCS, NSX environments
Skilled in disaster recovery planning, platform monitoring, and infrastructure as code
Proficient in Windows, RHEL operating systems, Agile working practices
Experience with Grafana, Fibre Channel Fabrics, and Cisco switching
