PMLD Teaching Assistant - Basildon, Essex

Academics are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Basildon. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them access education in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment.

The Role:

* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD
* Assist with personal care needs and mobility, always ensuring dignity and respect
* Support pupils in developing communication, independence, and life skills
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored learning opportunities
* Create a positive, nurturing environment where all students can thrive

The Ideal Candidate Will:

* Have previous experience in SEN education or a care setting
* Be patient, empathetic, and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs
* Have strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
* Be flexible and proactive in adapting to students' individual needs
* Hold a current enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply through Academics)
