As a Policy Analyst / Senior Policy Analyst (Financial Services), you will be the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients in one of the most high-profile and fast-moving sectors we cover. You’ll deliver timely, relevant political insight and live coverage, while also building strong relationships with clients and supporting them to navigate complex financial services regulation and policy. This role combines political expertise with commercial responsibility, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their profile as a trusted adviser in financial services policy. 


Key Responsibilities 


Political Intelligence & Monitoring 


  • Provide political information and analysis to your client portfolio through alerts, reports and briefings, using our AI-supported content system. 
  • Deliver live coverage of parliamentary proceedings, policy announcements, speeches, and press conferences. 
  • Produce clear summaries of debates, legislation, and regulatory changes relevant to financial services. 


Sector Expertise & Research 


  • Develop and maintain expertise in financial services policy, from banking and fintech to insurance, capital markets and ESG. 
  • Track political and regulatory developments that affect your clients’ interests, anticipating risks and opportunities. 
  • Produce insightful research and sector briefings on policy trends, government priorities, and key decision-makers. 
  • Attend relevant events (online and in-person) to deepen expertise and expand sector understanding. 


Client Engagement & Support 


  • Act as the first point of contact for your clients, ensuring excellent service and proactive support. 
  • Build strong client relationships through meetings, calls, and regular tailored updates. 
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to support renewals and trial conversions, contributing to commercial growth. 


Collaboration & Delivery 

  • Work with the Lead Analyst to ensure consistent, high-quality service across the policy team. 
  • Contribute to the training and support of colleagues, sharing sector expertise where relevant. 
  • Keep PeoplePoint profiles updated to maintain accurate and accessible client intelligence. 
  • Provide additional research support as part of client research hours or bespoke projects. 


Your Experience & Knowledge 


  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent experience). 
  • At least 1 – 2 years' experience in UK or EU politics, public affairs, or a policy-focused role. 
  • Strong knowledge of financial services policy and regulation, with a genuine interest in the political landscape. 
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly. 
  • Confident and professional manner, with experience in client-facing or commercial environments. 
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. 


Desirable: 


  • Experience working directly with or for financial services stakeholders. 
  • Knowledge of parliamentary and regulatory procedure in the UK and/or EU. 
  • Prior experience producing political intelligence, briefings, or analysis for clients.
