Since 1991 The Bristol Port Company has invested over £600 million in equipment and people to create one of the countrys most technically advanced ports.We are now looking for motivated people to join our Apprenticeship Scheme.Youll start on a basic salary of £19,104 per annum, rising to over £35,600 after successful completion of a two-year apprenticeship and a one-year training programme.Port Operations Apprentice You Will Learn:- How to handle cargo in a modern port environment- How to operate modern cargo handling equipment from cranes to front end loaders and fork-lift trucks- To work effectively in a strong team- How to develop your team building skills to equip you for a successful career at the Port- Full safety training and supervision will be given and well also give you all the safety equipment you needPort Operations Apprentice You:- You MUST have a driving licence, or be working towards one- Youll have a good head for heights, be physically fit and have good hand-eye co-ordination- You must enjoy working as part of a team- You will be flexible about working shifts including night shifts on any day including weekends- You will be confident at using computers as much of our equipment is computer controlled- You will also have good numeracy and literacy skillsQualifications:You will be able to gain some or all of these qualifications:- NVQ Level 2 in Port Operations- NVQ Level 3 in Supervisory ManagementTo apply for this Port Operations Apprentice position, press Apply today!
