Portfolio Construction Associate | £30bn+ Pension Fund | Internal Investment Team

Location: London 2x/week

Salary: Up to £105,000 +generous bonus and DB pension

Seeking a Portfolio Construction Associate to join a London-based asset owner’s internal investment team, not a third-party manager. This specialist team serves as a hub for integrating client advice, strategic asset allocation, and portfolio implementation to improve client outcomes through collaborative, research-driven pension investment management.

This is an opportunity to work at the heart of a £30bn+ multi-asset portfolio, helping to shape investment strategies and protect risk/return profiles. You will be expected to provide constructive challenge to portfolio managers and ensure mandates meet long-term client needs.

The Role

• Review and design investment mandates for internal and external portfolio managers, recommending adjustments/ challenging ideas
• Drive investment strategy, influence portfolio construction decisions
• Strive to deliver stronger investment outcomes for clients
• Monitor total portfolio liquidity and identify risks across asset classes
• Analyse and recommend changes to pooled fund exposures, including instruction prep

The Individual

• Hands-on background in growth-focused investment mandates and multi-asset strategy across a range of investor requirements
• Strong asset class knowledge, comfortable working outside of traditional assets, especially exposure to alternative and real asset classes, and delegated mandates (infrastructure and/or private equity etc)
• Be willing to constructively challenge ideas, and have a genuine passion for long-term multi-asset investing
• Ability to simplify complex investment concepts into clear, impactful language
