GPN Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly respected accountancy firm to recruit a Practice Manager for their London office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking firm with an excellent reputation, offering a varied and influential role at the heart of the business.
This position will suit an experienced practice professional who thrives in a hands-on, operational role and is looking to take ownership of internal processes, team coordination, and finance functions within a growing firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day running of the practice, ensuring smooth operations across all service lines
Manage workflow, resourcing, and deadlines across accounts, tax, and payroll teams
Client accounting - management accounts and statutory accounts
Act as a key point of contact for staff, supporting performance, development, and team coordination
Oversee and review payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Take ownership of internal finance processes, including billing, WIP, and cashflow oversight
Support partners with operational strategy, reporting, and process improvements
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong background within a UK accountancy practice environment
Good working knowledge of accounts, tax, and payroll processes
Experience in preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and tax computations
Proven experience managing workflows, teams, or operational functions
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Confident communicator with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working closely with partners
Ideally ACA / ACCA / MAAT qualified or qualified by experience
