Your new role As a Premises Assistant , you will join the Building Services team in Bristol, working as part of a small caretaking team to ensure the safe, secure, and effective operation of the school site. The role is varied and practical, supporting the day-to-day running of the school through planned and reactive maintenance, security, porterage, and cleaning duties. You will also prepare the site for assemblies, meetings, and out-of-school activities, respond to emergencies, and support the school in line with established procedures.The position requires flexibility, including early and late shifts on a rotational basis, availability for evening events, and emergency call-outs when required. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and some understanding of COSHH Basic computer skills Experience of building maintenance and systems (desirable but not essential) Experience working with HVAC systems (desirable but not essential) Experience of lone working IOSH Working Safely certification (or willingness to obtain) An Enhanced DBS (CRB) clearance, which is required for this role You will be reliable, proactive, and able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
