Our client manufacture pressings and welded assemblies. Due to continued growth they are looking for a Press Toolmaker on a permanent basis.
Duties include:
Service & repair of multi-stage progression tools which includes the following:
* Clean & degrease press tools taken out of production.
* Assembly & dismantling of press tools to regrind parts / replace tooling punches & dies.
* Manufacture new tooling parts using conventional tool room equipment i.e.. Surface grinders, miller, drilling machine and lathe.
* Carrying out preventative die maintenance (PDM), problem solving and contribute to the development of the tool room.
* Assist setters in the press shop with any tooling adjustments or repairs to preferably keep tooling in production
* Assist the setters with locating any parts kept within the tool to ensure the correct parts are fitted to avoid unnecessary tooling damage
* Manufacture tooling parts in the event of a breakdown keeping the tools running in production to reduce any downtime to a minimum
* General housekeeping to maintain a clean & safe working environment.
* Inform tooling engineer of any tooling modification carried out to either tools or parts so these can be documented, and designs updated if required.
