Learning Support Assistant - Full Time Position, Primary School, Knowsley
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team at a welcoming primary school in Knowsley. This full-time role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with students across the school and support their individual learning needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and activities tailored to the individual learning needs of students.
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to children, helping them develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence.
Supporting students with emotional, physical, or behavioral needs, ensuring a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere where every child can thrive.
Assisting in classroom behavior management, applying positive reinforcement techniques and maintaining a calm, focused learning environment.
Collaborating with external specialists and the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support personalised learning goals for students.
Promoting the social and emotional well-being of students, encouraging independence and building self-esteem.
Working with the wider school team to foster a supportive and inclusive school culture.
The Ideal Candidate:
A caring, patient, and proactive individual with a passion for supporting primary-aged children and helping them reach their full potential.
Experience working with children in a learning support role (desirable but not essential).
A good understanding of learning difficulties and disabilities and the ability to implement strategies to support individual learning needs.
Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with the class teacher, SENCo, and other professionals in the school.
Enthusiastic and committed to making a difference in the educational journey of every child.
Experience or training in behavior management techniques, communication strategies (e.g., Makaton), or supporting students with autism or learning disabilities (desirable but not essential).
A positive attitude and a strong desire to contribute to an inclusive school community.
