Primary SEN Teaching Assistant Job Title: SEND TAArea: Southwark Start Date: April 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, Term-timeSalary: £105 - £117 per day (depending on experience)Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm About the school: We are partnering with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southwark that is looking to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team as soon as possible. This full-time position involves supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, including children with a range of additional needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and communication challenges. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are important, as developing positive relationships with pupils plays a vital role in supporting their social development and engagement with learning. About the role as a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and tailored interventions Promote emotional regulation, independence, and positive routines throughout the school day Contribute to progress tracking and communicate regularly with the wider support team What We're Looking For from a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant: Experience supporting children with SEND (in a school or care setting) Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach Strong understanding of Autism and SEND A relevant TA qualification To be eligible you must: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application Provide two professional child related references If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up to date CV.
