Year 1 Teacher (QTS) Harrow | Key Stage 1 | Full-Time and Part-Time (PAYE only - no umbrella companies)

Salary: Outer London MPS £37,870 - £50,474 per annum (M1-M6) Daily rate equivalent: approximately £194 - £259 per day Paid weekly via PAYE only - no umbrella companies or hidden deductions

Tradewind Recruitment is working with welcoming and well-organised primary schools across Harrow who are seeking a committed Year 1 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 teams. This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis and can be adapted to suit your availability.

Year 1 is a key transition year, and schools are looking for teachers who are confident supporting pupils as they move from EYFS into the structure of Key Stage 1. You will be joining supportive teams with shared planning, clear routines and approachable leadership.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering the Primary National Curriculum with a strong focus on phonics, early reading, writing and maths. Planning is often shared across the year group, helping to keep workload manageable and expectations consistent.

You will work closely with teaching assistants and SEN staff to support pupils with additional needs, including SEND and EAL. Schools have clear behaviour policies and established routines, creating calm and purposeful classrooms.

What We Are Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1 Strong understanding of phonics and early reading Confident classroom and behaviour management Experience supporting pupils with SEND Clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection
