Principal Analog IC Design Engineer - ADC

New Today

Job Description

Based in Edinburgh, this is an opportunity for a Principal Analog IC Design Engineer with sigma-delta ADC expertise with one of the world’s top-ranking Semiconductor companies.

This role focuses on next-generation audio IC architectures and circuits. Working with some of the most accomplished analog designers in the industry, the Principal Analog IC Design Engineer will lead architecture definition, circuit design, verification strategy, and silicon validation, driving innovation across multiple product generations and defining the future of consumer audio technology. You’ll focus on inventing new architectures rather than iterating existing designs, enjoying freedom to tackle complex challenges and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

For this role we’re looking for someone with a strong track record of innovation in sigma-delta ADCs and DACs, together with a real interest in the audio field. Previous experience in audio is not essential; however the following are pre-requisites:

  • A MSc / PhD qualification in Electronic Engineering or similar field
  • A least a decade of experience within analog IC design, with a solid track record designing high-performance, low-power delta-sigma ADCs and DACs, from architectural concept through production silicon
  • Broad experience with switching audio amplifiers (e.g., Class-D), switching power conversion circuits (buck/boost), as well as precision analog blocks such as amplifiers, bandgap references, bias circuits, and LDOs
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal

Our client offers market-topping compensation packages, plus visa sponsorship and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
