This is a fantastic opportunity to join my client, a market-leading, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by opening a new office location in bonnie Scotland. Renowned for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are currently on the lookout for a driven, talented Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to win, manage, and successfully deliver a diverse range of challenging projects across the region. You will have a genuine hand in establishing and leading a team of design professionals, based near the exciting, vibrant city of Glasgow.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
Taking the lead on a number of high-profile infrastructure projects and developments
Managing the day-to-day running of projects, from inception through to successful delivery and implementation
Providing mentorship and support to colleagues as they progress within the company, overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Establishing and maintaining important professional relationships with clients and other stakeholders
Preparing, checking, and submitting technical documents, including reports, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and more
Subscribing to and promoting company policies, procedures, and best practice at all times
Enforcing the appropriate health and safety standards and regulations
Contributing to the company's business development strategies, acting as a trusted representative at client meetings, site visits, and more
Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
A First Degree in Civil Engineering
Possess Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE)
Extensive experience in an infrastructure design role, within a UK consultancy or Local Authority
Demonstrable experience of working with infrastructure (particularly drainage and highways), housing developments, and energy projects
Experience of working on earthworks design and drainage network modelling
Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, etc.)
Considerable experience of writing, checking, and amending reports and other technical documents for submission
Experience of managing people and projects within the industry
Prior experience of managing client and stakeholder relations, influencing Business Development (BD) activity
Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
A Higher Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar, relevant field)
Experience of preparing Flood Risk Assessments and/or Transport Assessments
Experience of working in a public-facing role
