Bristol or Swansea (Hybrid - 3 days office/site) The Opportunity We are partnering with a leading international engineering consultancy delivering complex infrastructure and environmental programmes across the UK and globally. They are seeking an experienced Principal Civil Maritime Engineer to join a high-performing, multi-disciplinary design team working on major projects within the water and maritime sector. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering large-scale, technically challenging infrastructure schemes, supporting both UK and international programmes across the full project lifecycle. As a Principal Maritime Engineer, you will: Lead and coordinate teams delivering complex maritime design projects. Produce and review technical deliverables (reports, calculations, drawings, scopes) Provide technical expertise across multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. Manage project timelines, budgets, and key milestones. Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. Mentor junior engineers and support team capability growth Contribute to bid development and technical proposals. Ensure compliance with design standards, codes, and quality assurance processes. About You Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) Chartered Engineer status (CEng) Strong experience within a design consultancy environment Proven leadership in managing engineering design teams. Expertise in maritime structures such as: Berthing structures Quay walls Dolphins Port infrastructure Strong knowledge of UK design standards and CDM regulations Experience with wave modelling / overtopping tools Background in the water sector is essential. Experience in sectors such as energy or defence is advantageous.
