The Opportunity

We are looking for enthusiastic, talented, and proactive individuals to join our Programme Integration team within Programme Advisory. Our growing Consents Team needs people with hands‑on experience working in a major project environment.

Programme Integration is at the heart of the Programme Advisory Team, working across the entire development lifecycle to provide our clients with programme and portfolio set‑up, transition management, governance and assurance solutions, and consents, stakeholder and sponsorship management.

As part of the Programme Integration team your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of an integrated project team to ensure the delivery of key client deliverables related to Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects and programmes, navigating the Development Consents Order, Transport and Works Act and Town & Country Planning processes across the pre‑ and post‑consent stages of the project or programme lifecycle.
  • Occupying client or service roles involving consents leadership and management (pre & post consent), consent production and delivery, environmental impact assessments, consultation / stakeholder engagement, and procedural strategic advisory / assurance.
  • Managing client relationships.
  • Identifying and realising business development opportunities.
  • Leading or contributing toward the preparation of bid proposals or managing key bids.
  • Leading internal initiatives within the Programme Advisory team, such as developing programme integration products and methodologies.
  • Mentoring and/or managing members of the Programme Advisory team.
  • Line managing junior staff (where applicable).

Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience of the lifecycle of a consents process from pre‑ to post‑consent.
  • Demonstrable technical understanding of consents strategy via different consenting routes (e.g., DCO, TWAO, Hybrid Bill).
  • Demonstrable technical understanding of discharging primary and secondary consents and post‑consent deliverables.
  • Experience of pre‑application and/or post‑consent liaison with internal and external stakeholders within large and complex organisations.
  • Experience coordinating approvals and notifications between all interested parties and managing consent management plans/strategies.
  • Technical experience in one or more of the following areas: consents leadership and management (pre & post consent), consent production and delivery, environmental impact assessments, consultation / stakeholder engagement, and procedural strategic advisory.
  • Experience working in or familiarity with a consulting environment (other consultancies or as an internal consultant) or ability to demonstrate a consulting skill set.
  • Proven track record of delivering tangible results across a range of projects, adopting a nimble approach and a can‑do attitude.
  • Experience of programme and/or project management within a complex environment with multiple workstreams, including DCO, TWAO and/or TCPA consenting environments.
  • Experience managing the production of high‑quality deliverables within challenging timescales.
  • Experience developing productive working relationships and the ability to identify new business opportunities.
  • Experience in some or all of the following sectors: infrastructure, transportation, utilities, defence, energy and natural resources (including nuclear), and real estate.
