Principal Data Scientist | Bristol (Once a week onsite) | up to £70,000


Peaple Talent have partnered exclusively with a leading organisation delivering advanced technology solutions across critical national programmes. They’re looking for a Principal Data Scientist to lead innovative data science initiatives and drive real-world impact.


The Role

You’ll lead technical delivery, manage a small team (4–6), and develop end-to-end machine learning solutions. Working in an agile, collaborative environment, you’ll tackle complex challenges using advanced analytics and AI.


Candidates must be UK citizens and eligible to obtain security clearance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead machine learning, automation, and analytics initiatives
  • Manage and mentor a small data science team
  • Develop predictive models and data solutions (structured & unstructured data)
  • Engage stakeholders and translate technical insights into business value


About You

  • Strong experience in a senior data science role
  • Expertise in machine learning, statistics, and advanced analytics
  • Proficient in Python, R, SQL or Java
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure
  • Knowledge of Computer Vision would be desirable
  • Able to communicate complex ideas clearly
