About The Team

In our Professional and Financial Services Business unit, we bring everything we have learned in more than a decade of Applied AI, and use it to help our clients navigate a rapidly changing landscape.

About The Role

As a Principal Data Scientist at Faculty, you will serve as a technical leader and domain expert who owns and drives delivery of the most technically complex, high‑impact projects. You will set technical direction, mentor, and develop our data scientists.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Serving as a technical authority on machine learning, generative AI, and other advanced data science methods.
  • Leading the development of shared resources, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Contributing to scoping and bid processes for large‑scale, high‑stakes projects.
  • Owning a portfolio of work within a specific sector to deliver exceptional value.
  • Leading and mentoring project teams and direct reports to ensure successful delivery.
  • Acting as a thought leader, publishing papers, and presenting at industry conferences.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience as a thought leader in this space, with demonstrable technical ability, creativity, and flexibility.
  • Prior experience delivering distinctive applications with financial services clients that drove commercial impact.
  • Broad knowledge across machine learning techniques, including generative and agentic AI with large language models.
  • Advanced coding skills in Python and experience building and maintaining scalable codebases.
  • Enjoyment of mentoring junior colleagues and prior direct management experience.
  • High proficiency in strategic problem‑solving and clear communication to non‑technical audiences.

  • Technical Interview (90 minutes)
  • Commercial & Principles Interview (90 minutes)
