Principal Ecologist- London, Norwich, Wakefield, Manchester

I’m currently recruiting for a Principal Ecologist on behalf of a leading and fast-growing environmental consultancy. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated ecologist to join a collaborative and supportive team working on diverse and meaningful projects across the UK.

The successful candidates will lead project delivery, manage a team of ecologists, and play a key role in developing business opportunities, helping to shape both the team and their own career in the process.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a range of ecological projects across various sectors

• Mentor and support junior ecologists

• Prepare and review high-quality reports and technical documents

• Advise clients and stakeholders on ecological matters and legislation

• Support business development through bids and client engagement

Requirements:

• Degree in Ecology or related discipline

• 8+ years of relevant experience in consultancy

• Strong knowledge of UK and European environmental legislation

• Proven experience in protected species surveys and mitigation (e.g. bats, GCN, reptiles, etc.)

• Hold (or be eligible for) one or more EPS/conservation licenses

• Full member of CIEEM (CEcol desirable)

• Excellent project and team management skills

• Full UK driving license
