Principal Electrical Engineer – Manchester We have a brand‑new opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Manchester. It is an exciting time to join our Manchester office, which has strong relationships with clients across the region and operates on a variety of local, regional, and international projects. We are eager to speak with candidates who have experience in commercial, residential, and mission‑critical projects. About The Role As a Principal Engineer you will support and deliver designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and support staff, maintain high‑quality client service, and drive repeat and new business opportunities while ensuring profitability.
Be responsible for the day‑to‑day technical delivery of electrical design services for multi‑disciplinary projects across a number of building sectors. Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards. Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a communicative, collaborative, and timely approach to delivery – this is a client‑facing role where you will attend project meetings and translate the brief within the project team. Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered. Mentor and support our ‘next gen’ professionals, including apprentices and graduates.
About You
Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record of delivering complex projects. Experience of modern technical delivery processes and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux. Demonstrable experience working with clients, contractors, and architects in a design‑oriented consulting role. Self‑awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity. Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
