Principal Engineer - Mechanical

A great new opportunity to join a Water sector specialist who has recently been awarded tier‑one framework status with South West Water & Bristol Water. My client, a national contractor with a company turnover of £200 million, requires a Principal Mechanical Engineer to be involved in Turnkey clean water with values from £20 million to over £100 million. As Principal Mechanical Engineer you will co‑ordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, taking into account health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract. Responsibilities
Produce cost‑effective design layouts to meet specification requirements and be constructed and commissioned effectively. Ensure designs take into account all environmental and health & safety requirements. Write, monitor, and review procedures and processes, ensuring continued development of the department. Assist in supervising and developing staff. Coordinate designs with all internal and external stakeholders. Provide estimates and feedback for the Proposals department. Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills. HND/Degree in relevant engineering discipline. Membership of a professional institution (chartered). Experience of producing designs of process plant systems, ideally within the Water sector. Previous experience with managing a team of staff. Ability to present technical proposals clearly and with confidence. Good general knowledge of all aspects of water treatment, e.g., mechanical engineering, process engineering, electrical engineering and project management.
Salary and Benefits
£70,000 - £75,000 per annum. Hybrid working. Attractive benefits package including Car Allowance, Life Assurance, Pension, option to purchase additional annual leave.
